Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support environmental infrastructure and monitoring projects throughout the Northern California area. This role will be responsible for field inspections, equipment maintenance, environmental data collection, troubleshooting operational systems, and supporting regulatory compliance initiatives at various project sites. Key Responsibilities
  • Support environmental field operations and ensure project objectives, compliance requirements, and reporting deadlines are met.
  • Collect, document, and maintain accurate environmental and operational data.
  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on environmental control and monitoring equipment.
  • Inspect, monitor, and analyze site systems, gases, liquids, and related infrastructure.
  • Assist with equipment repairs, maintenance projects, and field construction activities.
  • Troubleshoot system performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain pumps, piping, pneumatic equipment, and fluid conveyance systems.
  • Complete daily field reports and documentation using mobile applications and other reporting tools.
  • Travel to multiple project sites as needed; occasional overnight or out-of-state travel may be required.
  • Properly operate, maintain, and care for company-issued vehicles, tools, and equipment.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on work experience in construction, utilities, environmental services, mechanical maintenance, field operations, or a related industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer applications.
  • Experience maintaining accurate field logs and documentation.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to support travel between project sites.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round.
  • Ability to walk long distances on uneven terrain and navigate challenging site conditions.
  • Ability to pass required physical examinations, background checks, and drug screenings.
  • Availability to respond to occasional after-hours or emergency field needs.
  • OSHA 40-Hour
HAZWOPER
certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience using environmental monitoring, sampling, or field-testing equipment.
  • Familiarity with pumps, piping systems, pneumatic controls, or industrial equipment.
  • Exposure to environmental compliance programs, field sampling, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience working independently in outdoor field environments.
