Afternoon Shift Type of Employment:
Contract to Hire Environmental Technician - Taylor, TX A leading North American environmental services company is seeking an Environmental Technician for an onsite role in Taylor, TX, reporting to the Operations Supervisor. Flexible weekday and weekend availability is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and PPE requirements; must be able to wear a respirator. Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste using tankers, diaphragm pumps, hoses, and other transfer equipment. Set up job sites, including truck berms and secondary containment. Inspect hoses, fittings, gaskets, and tanker compatibility before transfers. Monitor operations continuously and stop work when unsafe conditions arise. Maintain housekeeping and professionalism while performing assigned duties.
Basic Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Ability to obtain and maintain
OSHA HAZWOPER
24-hour and Confined Space Entry & Rescue certifications. Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. Authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship. Must pass required background, MVR, physical, and drug screenings, including THC; random testing may apply. Ability to regularly lift 60 lbs., work overtime, and maintain flexible hours. Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals and waste in a safety-sensitive environment.
Preferred:
Basic knowledge of chemicals, hazards, machinery, tools, maintenance, and safety awareness. #TPGSJ
