Join our mission-driven, non-profit health system as an Inpatient Infection Preventionist , where you'll play a vital role in promoting patient safety, preventing healthcare-associated infections, and supporting a culture of clinical excellence. Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing leaders, quality teams, and frontline caregivers, you'll help ensure the highest standards of infection prevention across our inpatient hospital. What You'll Do As an Infection Preventionist, you will serve as the subject matter expert for infection prevention and control throughout the hospital.
Responsibilities include:
Conduct ongoing surveillance for healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) using NHSN definitions and reporting requirements. Analyze infection prevention data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement. Investigate outbreaks and exposure events, implementing timely interventions to reduce transmission. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate infection prevention initiatives. Educate physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on infection prevention best practices, regulatory requirements, and evidence-based guidelines. Monitor compliance with hand hygiene, isolation precautions, environmental cleaning, sterilization, and disinfection processes. Assist with regulatory readiness and accreditation activities, ensuring compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and The Joint Commission standards. Why Join Our Team? Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Bachelors + 2 years (2) Associates +4 years (4) HSD + 6 years (6) GED + 6 years (6) Certified Infection Prevention (CIC) highly preferred.
