SELAHEC, in conjunction with The Louisiana Office of Public Health is seeking a Hepatitis Surveillance Supervisor to oversee data analysis, data management, and field investigations for the Hepatitis Surveillance unit of the STI/HIV/Hepatitis Program. The position supports the state's progress toward hepatitis elimination and follows CDC and program security and confidentiality requirements. Duties Supervise Hepatitis Surveillance Data Managers, Field Investigators, and student workers Perform statistical and epidemiological analyses of hepatitis surveillance data Oversee monthly Medicaid and corrections treatment updates and data used to link people to treatment Develop program databases and write SQL queries and SAS programs for data requests and reports Conduct data linkages and produce technical writing, reports, and presentations Assist with grant narratives, guidelines, and procedures; present at local, state, and national meetings Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field and five years of relevant experience. A master's degree with two or more years of experience, or a PhD, may substitute for the five years. Superior data management and analytical skills using statistical software such as SAS or SPSS; proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Master's degree in public health, biostatistics, epidemiology, or a related field; five or more years of professional experience in data management and analysis; experience with viral hepatitis or other infectious disease data and with local, state, or federal programs; supervisory or team-leading experience.
