Jul 27, 2026 Get Involved! Get Involved! We are seeking highly trained medical professionals to serve as Ebola Response Coordinators for the Ebola outbreak in Ituri Province, DRC. These coordinator positions include Public Health Specialists, Infection Prevention and Control Specialists, and Clinical Case Management Specialists . Ebola Response Coordinators provide critical leadership and support for the Ebola Treatment Centers (ETC) on a 90-day deployment basis. Ebola Response Coordinators will lead and coordinate these supporting functions: key partner communications, on-the-ground team support, and day-to-day operational oversight specific to their role. They will also be responsible for compliance and improving staff training, clinical practices, patient care, and outcomes. They will also serve as a liaison between the field and the International Headquarters Leadership.

Ebola Response Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:

Role Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Public Health Specialist:

Provide technical support to the Ebola Treatment Centers and Infection Prevention and Control teams through the collection and analysis of clinical and community health data. Support key partners in the analysis of transmission trends, community attitudes, trust levels, adverse feedback, and local rumors. Use data to recommend and support actionable steps for rapid response.

Infection Prevention and Control Specialist:

Ensure all Samaritans Purse infection prevention practices and SOPs are rigorously followed and up to date with current best practice data. Monitor staff compliance daily, identify potential risk points, and provide immediate feedback to appropriate leadership.

Clinical Case Management Specialists:

Stay up to date on important guidance information from the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization on the outbreak of the Bunibugiyo strain. Lead case management workflows per Samaritans Purse SOPs, World Health Organization (WHO), and national Ministry of Health Ebola protocols. Provide oversight to patient data collection, ensuring quality of data and integration.

Education and Experience:

Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Minimum of three (3) years of international experience in outbreak response, IPC, or public health emergency operations.

Education Requirements:

Public Health Specialist :

MS in Public Health (MPH), MS in Global Health, MPA, or related discipline

Infection Prevention and Control Specialist:

Advanced degree (MPH, DrPH, MD, or PhD) in Public Health, Infectious Disease, or related field

Clinical Case Management Specialists:

Advanced clinical credential MD, BSN, RN, Physician Assistant, or related field, ideally with clinical or public health experience in infectious diseases Prior experience in humanitarian coordination required. WHO EMT, GOARN, or similar field collaboration experience preferred. Available for 90-day deployment. Able to serve within a very fast-paced environment, 5-6 days/week for extended hours while on deployment. Ability to problem solve and think critically in high-stress, low-resource environments. Demonstrated travel, volunteer, or work experience in developing countries. Highly detail-oriented in all areas of work. Willingness to work in unstable, insecure areas. Able to work as a member of a team, particularly in cross-cultural settings.
