Infection Control Preventionist (ICP) Chestnut Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center - Wilkes-Barre, PA | Full-Time | On-Site Protect residents. Educate teams. Lead with purpose. Chestnut Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare is seeking a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Infection Control Preventionist (ICP) to lead our Infection Prevention and Control Program. Why You'll Love Working at Chestnut Hills Lead and shape the facility's Infection Prevention & Control Program Make a meaningful impact on resident and employee safety Collaborate with an interdisciplinary leadership team Play a key role in education, survey readiness, and quality improvement Supportive environment with opportunities for professional growth Position Overview As Infection Control Preventionist, you will plan, implement, monitor, and continuously improve the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program. You'll lead surveillance, education, outbreak response, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement efforts while serving as a clinical resource across departments. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, Department of Health, local, and company infection prevention requirements Review and implement infection prevention policies and evidence-based practices Monitor surveillance data, identify trends, maintain infection and exposure records, and develop corrective action plans Coordinate outbreak investigations and ensure Standard and Transmission-Based Precautions are followed Provide infection prevention education during orientation and ongoing staff competency training Educate staff on hand hygiene, PPE, isolation precautions, antibiotic stewardship, and emerging infectious diseases Participate in Infection Prevention and QAPI committees and conduct routine environmental rounds and audits Prepare infection surveillance reports and recommendations for the Administrator and Director of Nursing Support the Antibiotic Stewardship Program through monitoring, data collection, and education Collaborate with Nursing, Environmental Services, Therapy, Dietary, Human Resources, and other departments Maintain confidential employee health and exposure records and support communicable disease follow-up Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Certified Infection Preventionist (CIP) certification or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe Previous infection prevention or skilled nursing experience preferred Experience with NHSN reporting, surveillance tracking, outbreak management, or QAPI preferred Strong organizational, communication, teaching, and analytical skills Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and implement best practices Ability to meet health screening, background check, and drug screening requirements Schedule & Status Full-Time Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Additional hours as needed for outbreaks, surveys, or facility needs On-site position Benefits Package Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Daily Pay with Tapcheck Paid Time Off & Holiday Pay 401(k) Life Insurance Short-Term Disability Ready to Make an Impact?
