Senior Scientist, Research and Development Job Summary :
Vibrant Ingredients seeks an Associate Scientist, who will support laboratory operations and product/process development activities under the direction of Senior Scientists. This role is ideal for an early-career scientist eager to grow technical expertise, gain hands-on lab experience, and contribute to innovative clean-label ingredient solutions.
Skills, Traits, & Competencies:
Familiarity with Good Laboratory Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices and sanitary sample handling Limited knowledge of a range of process technologies including but not limited to fermentation, extraction, separation, evaporation, and drying. Clear, concise communication, organization, and record-keeping skills. Curious, quick learner, self-motivated, and has an aptitude for problem-solving
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform laboratory testing and experiments following SOPs, GLPs, and GMPs Prepare reagents, samples, and solutions for development and customer projects Support data collection, documentation, and reporting of test results Maintain lab equipment, instrumentation, and workspaces Assist with chemical inventory, storage, and waste management Cross-train in sensory evaluation and analytical testing techniques Communicate findings and issues clearly with lab and operations teams Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Support trade show and customer sample preparation Flexibility to occasionally work night shifts based on project needs Limited travel to trade shows and other sites
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher preferably in Food science/Chemistry/Microbiology from a reputable school Experience working in lab environment preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills
