Job Description:
The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging (NAPCA) is seeking candidates 55 years of age and older for the position of Physical Science Technician with the
U.S. EPA
Senior Environmental Employment Program (SEE) Laboratory Services and Applied Science Division.
General Summary:
This position supports the EPA Region 10 Laboratory Field Team with technical functions including field sampling, sample preparation, data management, and equipment maintenance and calibration.
Program Requirements:
Must meet all 3 requirements: 55 years of age and older (in accordance with Public Law 98-313 and the Older American Workers Act) a US citizen be eligible to work in the
US Qualifications:
Minimum two years of experience in field sampling or Bachelor's degree Previous training in chemistry, biology, or agriculture preferred
Duties/Responsibilities:
Fieldwork:
Assists with the collecting of environmental samples (air, water soil) and deploy monitoring equipment in the field.
Data Management:
Assist with recording and organizing technical data, update databases, and help draft summary reports.
Equipment Maintenance:
Help maintain, check calibration, install and troubleshoot environmental monitoring instruments.
Laboratory Work:
Assist with sample preparation including drying and sieving. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Type:
