Position Purpose Provide strategic leadership and vision for a team of liaison librarians advancing the Dartmouth Libraries' engagement with research and learning for the sciences and social sciences. Establish collaborative strategies with academic departments and campus partners to support forwardlooking research, teaching, and learning initiatives. Contribute to evidencebased assessment efforts informing library collections, programming, and services, primarily in support of the School of Arts & Sciences. Shape the continued evolution of the liaison librarian role in response to the changing needs and challenges of our community. This is an onsite only work location position. Description Required Qualifications Education and Yrs Exp Masters plus 6 or more years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications Skills, Knowledge and Abilities ALAaccredited MLS/MLIS, MIS or the equivalent combination of a relevant advanced degree or experience working in an academic library. 3 years experience supervising and/or mentoring staff, chairing committees, and leading projects. Proven leadership, management, and interpersonal skills which encourage teamwork, collaboration, and relationship building. Demonstrated capacity to foster and manage change in a rapidly changing environment and with a diverse community. Demonstrated success in applying critical, analytical, and innovative thinking to work. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a wide variety of smallgroup and team environments. Knowledge of the evolving scholarly communications landscape with an understanding of the library's role in the research environment. Experience providing research and learning services related to the sciences or social sciences in an academic library environment. Experience participating in collection development in an academic library. Evidence of ongoing professional growth and awareness of current and emerging trends in librarianship. Preferred Qualifications 5 years of progressively higher administrative responsibilities in an academic library. Degree in a sciences or social sciences discipline. Understanding and interest in educational technology and its applications in an academic library. Experience with dataintensive research methodologies and related library services.
