Job Description

Water Resource Specialist Full Time
JR-10658 JOB SUMMARY
This is a research position investigating the water availability in the state. Water availability in the state is significantly influenced by long-term weather and large-scale teleconnections patterns. In this project, we seek to investigate and quantify how these teleconnection patterns impact percipitation and other hydroclimate variables and their effect on water availability.
JOB DUTIES
60% - Develop and validate a set of hydrological models for each basin in South Carolina. Evaluate the impact of large-scale teleconnection patterns and long-term changes in the weather on water availability in each basin. Other duties as assigned. 10% - Results from this study is essential for water resources planning and management as well as agriculture. Presentation at state and national conferences and Extension workshops are an integral part of this position. 30% - Results from the study will be presented in the form of reports, peer-reviewed publications, posters at conferences as well at workshops to stakeholders in the state.

Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in a clinical or research setting.

INFORMATION
Expected Salary Range $40,000 - $40,000 Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
