Qualifications:
Minimum of 20 year(s) of experience in Field studies and data collection regarding wading bird and wildlife monitoring in South Florida.
OR BA/BS
Degree in Wildlife Biology with minimum additional experience of 10 year(s) in monitoring wading birds and/or other wildlife in South Florida Experience required with
Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, MS Outlook, Adobe Acrobat Duties:
This position works with NPS staff to analyze aerial photography of wading bird colonies and other wading bird monitoring data to complete and document a data set of wading bird nesting in and around Everglades National Park over time. Applies knowledge of South Florida?s ecosystems and wading bird species life history to review and analyze aerial photography of wading bird colonies collected over time to develop accurate count data of nesting wading birds by species. Enters data into a database, documents the data appropriately, and prepares summaries of wading bird nesting in coordination with other NPS staff. 85% Applies knowledge of South Florida?s ecosystems and wildlife to provide expert technical assistance regarding wading birds and wildlife issues to NPS staff and assist with a variety of tasks related to Everglades National Park wildlife management 15%
