Key Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as a school counselor or equivalent counseling role Strong understanding of social and emotional learning best practices Background working with elementary-aged children, particularly grades 3-5 Experience providing support for special education populations Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Understanding of confidentiality and ethical standards in a school environment
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver direct counseling services for students in grades 3-5, individually and in groups Develop, implement, and lead social and emotional learning initiatives across classrooms Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to assess and address student needs Provide strategies and resources for students requiring additional special education support Support at-risk students, facilitate conflict resolution, and promote positive school climate Maintain thorough documentation of services, participating actively in meetings and parent conferences when needed You'll find an environment committed to every child's growth, where your insights will be valued and your contribution truly matters.
