LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE COUNSELOR REPORTS TO

Junior-Senior High School Administration

PAY TYPE

Classified, Non-Supervisory

PAY RATE

Initial substitute daily pay rate (starting at $145 per day) for the first 15 consecutive days, followed by daily rate based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract ( see attachment )

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides short-term academic, college/career, and social-emotional counseling services to students in the absence of the regular school counselor Support academic tracking, scheduling inquiries, and student progress monitoring Assist in maintaining student support processes, Section 504 accommodations, and testing logistics as needed Responds to student crises and provide intervention, collaborating with administration, staff, and families as appropriate Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of student interactions during the coverage period Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Administration

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Required:

Bachelor's Degree (minimum), Master's Degree in School Counseling preferred Valid Indiana School Counselor License Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor Experience working in a school environment preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

Ability to utilize student data to design interventions and foster academic achievement Exceptional interpersonal, crisis intervention, and communication skills Jr

High School or Secondary experience is preferred
