Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class support to teachers through classroom management and instructional assistance Deliver one-on-one and small-group tutoring in core subjects to help students meet academic goals Build positive, consistent relationships with students as a mentor and role model Track and report student progress using program tools and data systems Support attendance initiatives and social-emotional learning activities Assist with planning and leading after-school or enrichment programs and events Collaborate with a diverse AmeriCorps team and school staff to address student needs Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development sessions Engage families and community partners in supporting student success Uphold City Year's core values of service, equity, and inclusivity Tutoring and academic support in core subjects Classroom management support Youth mentoring and relationship-building Basic data entry and progress tracking Communication with students, families, and staff Team collaboration in a school setting Time management and reliability Conflict resolution and de-escalation basics Cultural competence and sensitivity Facilitation of group activities and enrichment programs Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Must qualify for AmeriCorps service (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background check required for school-based service CPR/First Aid certification preferred Prior volunteer or youth mentoring experience preferred
