JOB GOAL
Under the general supervision of the High School Principal, this position provides mentoring, guidance, and career counseling for high school students. Additionally, this position will play a key role in facilitating restorative practices within the building.
QUALIFICATIONS
An individual shall possess, upon application, the following minimal experience or its satisfactory equivalent: Master's Degree in Counseling, with Valid Guidance and Counseling Endorsement (NT). Experience in standardized testing. Working knowledge of master scheduling, preferred. Experience in High School Counseling, preferred.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide personal student guidance counseling Conduct group and individual meetings to assist students Coordinate and facilitate parent, student, and staff meetings Coordinate standardized testing Work with students and staff to develop educational plans Assist in the creation of class master scheduling Communicate with parents and community members Uphold confidentiality in all situations Work with Restorative Justice counterpart to facilitate restorative circles Assist in facilitating the Restorative Justice program, and continuous improvement Perform other duties as assigned
