Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class support to teachers and students in core subjects Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups to reinforce academic skills Support students' social-emotional development and engagement in school Monitor attendance and help implement strategies to improve student participation Assist with planning and facilitating after-school and enrichment programs Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates to support whole-school initiatives Track and report student progress and participation using established tools Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners in student-support activities Model leadership, respect, and inclusivity in all school-based interactions Tutoring and academic support Classroom support techniques Youth development practices Basic data tracking and documentation Communication and interpersonal skills Time management and organization Team collaboration Cultural competency and inclusivity Conflict resolution and de-escalation Facilitation of group activities and workshops Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Eligibility to serve in AmeriCorps (citizenship or permanent resident status) Ability to pass background checks required for working in schools Commitment to full-time service term (typically 10-12 months)
