Special Services Building - Hartford Public Schools 701 South Paw Paw Street Lawrence, MI 49064 Job Goal(s): The overall job goal of the Intervention Specialist is to work with a team of consultants to assist Local Educational Agencies in Van Buren County in providing individualized supports to maintain a safe, positive and effective environment for all students.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
Work Experience:
Previous experience working with children, particularly those with complex needs, is preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
Establish positive working relationships with students and staff. Collaborate with the consultant team to provide support to LEAs. Provide individual support to students to increase independence, positive behavior and academic skills. Assist teams in developing functional behavior assessments and positive behavior support plans Model and coach effective instructional practices, behavior management and crisis intervention. Collect data to measure progress and intervention effectiveness. Assist students with personal needs (toileting, dressing, etc.), as needed. Maintain effective ongoing communication with others and participate in planning meetings. Keep others informed of location at all times. Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality. Maintain confidentiality of student and school information. Maintain service log. Follow through on assigned responsibilities within agreed upon time lines. Follow Van Buren ISD school policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Valid driver's license required.
Terms of Employment:
As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
