Imagine Supported Living Services is a nonprofit organization; our mission is to empower individuals with developmental disabilities through service and advocacy; We promote empowerment in our clients' homes and inclusivity in our community. Home Support Specialists work on a one to one basis, with an adult who has a developmental disability in that person's private residence. We are committed to providing exceptional caregiving services that enhance the lives of our clients. Position Overview:
Provide direct caregiving services to clients, including assistance with activities of daily living, companionship, and emotional support.
Responsibilities may include:
Personal Assistance:
Ability to assist the individual with activities of daily living including bathing, toileting, and other self-help skills. Assistance with meal preparation, activity planning, participating in community outings and events, completing errands and shopping. Administering medication as needed. Leading by example, demonstrating professionalism, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of our clients. Document client progress and report any changes in their health or behavior. Driving assistance using personal vehicle.
Qualifications:
Background check clearance Valid Drivers License Experience in a related field (recommended)
Challenging Behaviors:
Ability and willingness to support individuals with challenging behaviors. Ability to; read and interpret documents, write specific reports and correspondence, apply mathematical concepts to practical situations, apply conflict resolution skills, and interpret written and verbal instructions if required. Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy. Successful training in, and use of, First Aid/CPR If necessary, the agency will provide CPR certification.
