Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Persona Supports/Companions to provide personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, individuals with disabilities, and those living with neurodevelopmental or cognitive disorders. In this vital role, you will foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment by assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring their well-being, and promoting independence. Your energetic approach will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve while ensuring their safety and comfort. Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity Monitor patients' health status by observing vital signs, behavior, and overall condition; report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed Provide personal transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings to foster social engagement and independence Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces Support clients during transfers using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly desirable Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and resident's rights is essential Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are a plus Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality in healthcare settings is necessary Experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or neurodevelopmental disorders is preferred Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and manual handling tasks; physical stamina for long shifts is important Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; compassionate attitude toward diverse populations Join our team to provide meaningful support that empowers individuals to live healthier, happier lives.
