Job Overview Join our dedicated residential team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at our 16-bed ICF/DD home in Salem, Illinois. In this role, you will provide hands-on support and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life. Our DSPs play an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive home environment. You will assist residents with daily routines, personal care, meals, activities, community outings, and other needs while building positive relationships and encouraging each individual to be as independent as possible. This is a full-time residential position with openings on 2nd and 3rd shifts: 2nd

3:00 PM - 11:00 PM 3rd

11:00 PM - 9:00 AM Duties Provide direct care, supervision, and support to residents in a residential ICF/DD setting Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other personal care needs Support residents with mobility and transfers using safe lifting and transfer techniques Assist with medication administration according to established procedures and training Prepare meals and assist residents with eating and following individual dietary needs Monitor residents and report changes in physical or behavioral condition Complete required documentation, daily records, and other resident-related paperwork accurately Support residents with recreational, social, and community activities Encourage independence and participation in household routines and daily activities Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable residential environment Follow individual service plans, safety procedures, and agency policies Provide transportation and community support when needed Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and other members of the resident's support team Requirements Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required Previous experience in residential care, caregiving, healthcare, or a related field is beneficial Ability and willingness to provide personal care and hands-on assistance to residents Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team Compassion, patience, dependability, and a genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and accurately complete required documentation CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable upon hire Ability to safely lift, transfer, and assist residents with mobility as needed Must be able to successfully complete required background and registry checks Why Join Our Team?
