Is patient, empathetic, and has strong people skills, as well as observant and committed to making clients feel safe and comfortable.

• Responsibilities Enables clients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient conditions, providing support and personal services. Monitors patient condition by observing physical and mental condition, intake and output, and exercise. Supports clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, shopping for food and other household requirements, preparing and serving meals and snacks, and running errands. Assists clients by providing personal services, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming. Helps clients care for themselves by assisting with use of cane or walker, special utensils to eat, special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene. Helps family members care for the patient by teaching appropriate ways to lift, turn, and reposition the patient. Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying nursing supervisors of changing or unusual conditions. Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintains security precautions, and follows prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards. Protects the home care agency by adhering to professional standards, home care policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements. Enhances service reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Entertains patients by reading, talking, and listening to the individual, upon request. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. The ability to follow instructions but also to think independently. Excellent report writing skills and organizational skills. Empathy and a personable manner. Physical fitness and mental strength. A valid driver's license or reliable transport.

Pay:

From $18.75 per hour
