Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Companion Caregiver to provide personalized support and assistance to individuals in their homes or community settings. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities or those requiring specialized care such as dementia or Alzheimer's. As a Companion Caregiver, you will be the friendly face and trusted helper that makes a positive difference every day. This paid position offers an opportunity to build meaningful relationships while delivering essential care that promotes well-being and dignity. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote healthy living Provide companionship through engaging conversations, recreational activities, and emotional support to foster mental stimulation and reduce feelings of loneliness Support clients in maintaining their home environment by performing light cleaning, laundry, and organization tasks to ensure a safe and comfortable space Assist with transportation for medical appointments, errands, or social outings using personal transportation or community resources Follow care plans meticulously while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality Requirements Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes or home health environments is highly desirable Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and neurodevelopmental disorders support Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in hospice care, HIPAA compliance or heavy lifting are a plus Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility support safely Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving ensures the best outcomes for clients Join us as a Companion Caregiver where your dedication transforms lives!
