Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Caregiver to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring assistance with daily activities and health management. This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver personalized, round-the-clock support in a home environment, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for individuals with diverse needs. The ideal candidate will be energetic, proactive, and committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve through attentive caregiving and medical assistance. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor patient condition through regular observation of vital signs, medication administration, and assessment of health status. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring patients' needs are met with compassion and professionalism. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support clients with medication management, including reminders and proper administration according to prescribed medical terminology. Conduct patient observations related to dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and end-of-life care with sensitivity and respect. Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and light housekeeping to promote a safe and healthy environment. Follow home healthcare regulations and protocols while providing home health care assistance in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Communicate effectively with clients, family members, healthcare teams, and other caregivers to ensure coordinated care delivery. Support clients during transfers or mobility activities using proper patient transfer methods to prevent injury. Experience Previous experience working as a live-in caregiver or in home health care is highly preferred. Demonstrated assisted living experience or long-term care experience caring for geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities. Knowledge of medical terminology, hospice care practices, dementia/dementia care strategies, and Alzheimer's/Memory Care techniques. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documentation purposes along with medical records management. Hands-on experience performing vital signs measurement, catheter care, medication administration, CPR certification, first aid training, and basic life support (BLS). Experience working within home health agencies or providing hospice or heavy lifting support using equipment like Hoyer lifts is advantageous. Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion at all times. Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with patients and their families while respecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
