Job Summary We are currently seeking to hire a Part-time Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide daily living assistance to individuals in an in-home setting in the Pipestone, MN. This includes tasks such as grooming, bathing, housework, and other errands. The ideal candidate should have a reliable vehicle and be able to travel in winter conditions. They should also be able to lift up to 50 pounds, which includes loading wheelchairs into cars. This position 6 plus hours, depending on the client's needs. We are looking for a PCA to start immediately, but they must be able to pass a background check. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental and emotional well-being Administer medication reminders and monitor health conditions according to care plans Perform light housekeeping tasks including laundry, meal preparation, and household organization to maintain a clean and safe environment Communicate effectively with family members, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care needs Observe and report any changes in clients' health status or behavior promptly to supervisors or medical professionals Follow all safety protocols and adhere to care plan guidelines to ensure client safety at all times Skills Demonstrated experience in providing in-home or personal care services with a focus on client safety and comfort Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, geriatrics, post-acute care, outpatient clinics, and sub-acute care environments Experience working with diverse populations including elderly individuals, patients from Level I Trauma Centers or PICU settings is a plus Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining flexibility for changing needs Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and family members Compassionate attitude combined with proactive problem-solving skills Join us in delivering exceptional in-home care that empowers clients to live healthier, happier lives.
