Job Description

Overview We are seeking a compassionate, patient and detail-orientated caregiver and companion for a 68-year-old woman living with Parkinson's disease. The ideal candidate will provide physical mobility support, cognitive companionship and help with light housekeeping to ensure a safe, organized and positive home environment. This would be primarily Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7:30-8:00am to 5:30pm.

Key Responsibilities Parkinson's & Mobility Support:

Assist with safe transfers (sit-to-stand), steady walking to prevent falls, and gentle encouragement during "off" periods when freezing and stiffness occurs.

Daily Assistance:

Help with motor fine-motor tasks around the house to maintain a patient and unhurried pace.

Companionship:

Engage is active conversation or mental exercises to support cognitive health, and provide a warm, encouraging presence.

Light housekeeping:

Keep area clear of tripping hazards, assist with simple meal preparation, wash dishes and handle basic laundry.

Medication Prompts:

Provide timely reminders for scheduled medications to help maintain symptom control. Qualifications Experience caring for individuals with Parkinson's disease, dementia, or mobility challenges is highly preferred, but we feel a good personality fit is most important. Exceptional patience, empathy, and physical stability to assist with balance. Reliable transportation and references.

Pay:

$25.00 per hour
