Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to promote independence, safety, and well-being. While supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, your energetic and caring approach will foster a positive environment where clients feel valued and empowered. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your caregiving skills while contributing to a supportive community. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Support clients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement and independence Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, patient observations, and progress notes Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Requirements Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR, first aid, Alzheimer's and dementia care, autism support, and hospice care Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges with patience and empathy Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing health or behavioral changes Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility tasks safely Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy Valid certifications in CPR and first aid; additional certifications in medication administration or nursing assistance are a plus Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and families Class E Chaffeur's drivers license Join us in providing compassionate support that transforms lives!
