Caregiver/DSP

1:1 DSPs provide individualized, person-centered support to one assigned volunteer in our Day Program, helping implement habilitation, behavioral, clinical, and medical support plans while promoting independence, community inclusion, and personal growth. Working closely with supervisors and clinical staff, 1:1 DSPs assist with daily activities, self-care, behavior support strategies, health and safety needs, skill development, and community participation. Responsibilities include documenting progress, maintaining accurate records, reporting changes in behavior, health, or functioning, supporting crisis intervention when needed, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to help the volunteer achieve their goals and maximize success in both the program and community.

We require:

Valid NYS Driver's License and maintain a qualified driver status throughout employment

AMAP AND SCIP-R

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred Six months experience supporting people with developmental disabilities preferred Proficient in all areas of verbal, written and reading skills Will be expected to complete advanced training upon supervisor's request (i.e. CPR/ Clinical Training etc.) Experience as a DSP, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Personal Care Assistant (PCA) is a plus , but not required
