Job Description

Home Health Aide (HHA) | Cincinnati About the Role Our mission at Arlo Health Services is simple: professional, attentive care for every individual we serve, without discrimination and without compromise on quality. Our Home Health Aides are the face of the company in every home we enter. We hire people who take genuine pride in their work, want to learn, and hold themselves to a high standard. People who do the job right when no one is watching, because most of this work happens with no one watching. As an HHA, you'll provide non-medical, hands-on personal care in clients' homes, following an approved care plan under the supervision of a registered nurse or case manager. Your goal in every visit is to help each client remain safe, dignified, and well cared for at home. What You'll Do Assist clients with bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, dressing, and incontinence care Support safe ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises using proper body mechanics Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed Provide medication reminders (no medication administration, which is handled by nursing) Perform light housekeeping: sweeping, laundry, dishes, and waste disposal Provide companionship and emotional support Observe each client and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising RN Document care accurately and maintain strict client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions at every visit What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED Current HHA, STNA, or Nurse Aide certification preferred Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Ability to follow a written care plan and complete documentation Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care a plus High school diploma or GED Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable personal transportation Compassion, reliability, and the ability to work independently in a client's home Before working independently with clients, you'll complete one of the following: ODH-approved HHA training and competency evaluation, or Medicare-compliant HHA competency evaluation, or Current STNA certification in good standing on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry, or Arlo Health Services' training and competency evaluation Also required before starting: in-person First Aid/CPR certification and a current negative TB test. Physical Requirements Physically active role performed in clients' homes. Involves safely lifting, transferring, and repositioning clients using proper body mechanics; standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching for extended periods; and traveling between client homes throughout the workday.
