Job Description

Seeking an experienced and dependable Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support for a 22 year old male in Milwaukie. Approximately 12-13 hours per week He is looking for help leaving the house more regularly to engage in activities he enjoys and to build more physical activity into his routine. He would specifically like support in going swimming at local pools, going bowling, and encouragement to take his dogs out for daily walks. He is also interested in baking, so if a provider had a simmilar interest, it would be a great fit! He works best with people who are higher energy, can engage in conversation, and is extroverted so they can help him get him out of his shell a bit. DSP doesn't need a vehicle, but should be familiar with public transit. There is no smoking but he does have 2 dogs.

Schedule:

Monday & Friday 12:00pm-4:00pm Thursday 1:30PM-5:30PM Approximately 12-13 hours per week Candidate Must have- Driving license and reliable vehicle Communication skills requiring patience and understanding Ability to provide occasional assistance with daily tasks About us Kangaroo Care is a small business in Portland, OR. Kangaroo Care delivers the training and resources to give our caregivers top-quality skills in a meaningful work environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Help plan and assist in preparing some meals, including serving, if necessary Assist with dressing, grooming Assist in daily living activities and needs Participate in life enriching activities A caregiver may assist with medication reminders Complete required shift notes and scheduling via our caregiver app Maintain client confidentiality Record and report changes in client's physical condition, behavior, or appearance

Pay:

$23.00 - $24.00 per hour
