This role is vital in promoting independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing quality of life for clients with diverse needs, including those requiring memory care, developmental disabilities, or senior support. The ideal candidate will bring energy, empathy, and a proactive attitude to every interaction, creating a positive and nurturing environment. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while developing valuable skills in patient care and support. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, documenting findings accurately in care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary, ensuring safety during meal times. Administer medications as prescribed, following all safety protocols and medication administration procedures. Support clients during outings or appointments by providing personal transportation assistance and ensuring safe navigation within the community. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Engage with clients through meaningful communication, activity engagement, and emotional support to foster trust and well-being. Follow established care plans meticulously while adapting to each client's unique requirements related to dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism spectrum disorder, or other developmental disabilities. Respond promptly to emergency situations with first aid or CPR when needed, ensuring immediate safety for the client. Document all interactions accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient observations or concerns. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and hospice or palliative support. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using proper manual handling techniques; experience with patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts is preferred. Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients of diverse backgrounds including those with neurodevelopmental disorders or intellectual disabilities. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information at all times. Skilled in meal preparation tailored to specific dietary restrictions and nutritional needs. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable. Ability to respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations through first aid or CPR certification. Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate documentation of care activities and medication administration.
