Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor and report on residents' health status by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and documenting changes accurately in electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Administer medications and follow care plans meticulously, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical protocols. Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to promote nutritional health. Implement behavior management techniques tailored to individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, social workers, case managers, and family members to coordinate comprehensive care strategies. Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to enhance mental stimulation and emotional well-being while maintaining a safe environment through patient safety protocols. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated expertise in assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and patient observation. Knowledge of dementia care, memory care techniques, hospice care principles, and working with individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities. Certification in First Aid, CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), Basic Life Support (BLS), and crisis intervention is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus. Ability to lift heavy objects safely using manual handling techniques; experience operating Hoyer lifts or similar equipment is advantageous. Strong communication skills for caregiver interactions and conflict management; ability to document patient condition reports clearly. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends; valid driver's license for driving responsibilities if needed.
