Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team and provide compassionate care to residents in our group homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home and community care settings, with a strong focus on supporting individuals with cognitive disabilities and behavioral needs. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall quality of life through personalized support and engagement. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs and recognizing signs of medical or behavioral issues. Provide medication administration as prescribed, following proper protocols for safety and accuracy. Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs while encouraging independence. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for those with dementia or developmental disabilities. Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to sanitation standards and manual handling procedures. Document resident progress, incidents, and care activities accurately in compliance with organizational policies. Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and geriatrics is essential. Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; experience with safe patient lifting practices is preferred. Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and manual handling techniques. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with caregiving roles.
