Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Personal Care Aide to provide exceptional support and care to children with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will assist child with daily activities, ensure their safety, and promote their well-being including in their home. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a nurturing environment where children can thrive, learn, and feel valued. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families while developing your skills in caregiving and patient support. Hours that are needed Monday, Tuesday & Thursday from 4-8pm Responsibilities Assist children with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor children's health and behavior closely, observing for any changes or concerns, and report findings to supervisors or healthcare professionals promptly. Support children during recreational activities, educational programs, and therapy sessions to foster development and social interaction. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Follow care plans meticulously to ensure each child's specific needs are met, including medication administration under proper protocols. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety standards such as HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality. Assist with light housekeeping duties related to the child's living space to promote a clean, organized environment conducive to health and comfort. Skills Proven experience working with children in group home settings or home & community care environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care when applicable. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance or nursing assistant training are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, healthcare providers, and team members effectively. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs is highly desirable. Demonstrated patience, compassion, and a proactive attitude towards supporting children's physical and emotional well-being.
