Residential House Supervisor About the Position Mesquite Treatment Center, LLC is seeking dependable, compassionate, proactive, and committed Direct Care Workers to join our residential treatment team. Our Direct Care Workers play an important role in providing adolescents with a safe, structured, supportive, and therapeutic environment . This position involves direct supervision of residents, behavioral redirection, assistance with daily living activities, maintaining facility cleanliness, documentation, and supporting the overall residential program. We are looking for individuals who genuinely want to work with youth and make a positive difference in their lives . Ideal candidates are comfortable working with adolescents who may be experiencing substance use, mental health, behavioral, emotional, or other significant life challenges . This position requires someone who can remain calm and compassionate while maintaining clear expectations and professional boundaries. Direct Care Workers must be willing to engage with residents, redirect inappropriate behaviors, model positive behavior, and help maintain a clean and organized living environment. This is a direct care, non-clinical position . Direct Care Workers do not provide counseling or clinical services, consistent with Mesquite Treatment Center's formal position description. Observant and safety-conscious — able to recognize behavioral concerns, safety risks, cleanliness issues, or other problems and respond appropriately. Willing to clean and maintain the residential environment — cleaning and facility upkeep are part of the Direct Care Worker position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Resident Supervision & Safety Provide continuous and attentive supervision of adolescent residents. Maintain a safe, secure, structured, and supportive residential environment. Monitor resident behavior, activities, movement, and daily routines. Establish and maintain appropriate behavioral limits and expectations. Redirect inappropriate or unsafe behaviors in a calm, professional, and respectful manner. Encourage residents to make positive choices and follow program expectations. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents. Recognize potential safety risks and respond appropriately. Respond appropriately to emergencies, behavioral incidents, and crisis situations. Implement approved crisis intervention techniques when required, authorized, and properly trained. Conduct routine resident room and facility inspections for cleanliness, contraband, and potential safety hazards. Resident Support & Daily Living Assist residents with daily routines, including meals, hygiene, chores, and scheduled activities. Work directly with residents to reinforce responsibility, accountability, appropriate behavior, and healthy daily routines. Support structured recreational, social, and program activities. Participate in community meetings and other assigned residential activities. Assist new residents with understanding program expectations, rules, and routines. Encourage positive communication and appropriate interactions between residents. Serve as a consistent and positive role model through your actions, communication, attitude, and work ethic. Provide appropriate non-clinical information to the treatment team when requested. Cleaning & Facility Upkeep Cleaning and maintaining the residential environment are part of the responsibilities of this position. Direct Care Workers are expected to: Help maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and organized residential environment throughout the shift. Monitor resident rooms, common areas, and other assigned spaces for cleanliness and safety. Complete routine cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities assigned to the shift. Assist with cleaning and organization of common and residential areas as needed. Help ensure trash, clutter, spills, and other cleanliness or safety concerns are addressed promptly. Work alongside residents during assigned chores when appropriate, modeling responsibility and appropriate cleaning habits. Ensure residents complete assigned chores according to program expectations. Identify and promptly report maintenance, sanitation, or safety concerns. Take appropriate initiative when something needs attention rather than waiting to be repeatedly instructed. Initiative & Accountability We expect Direct Care Workers to be proactive and engaged throughout their entire shift . Staff should be able to recognize routine responsibilities and take appropriate action without waiting for a supervisor to provide constant direction.

This includes noticing when:

A resident needs assistance or redirection. A common area needs attention or cleaning. A safety concern needs to be addressed. Documentation needs to be completed. Residents need assistance completing routines or chores. A coworker reasonably needs assistance. Important information needs to be communicated to the supervisor or incoming shift. Being proactive does not mean working outside your role or disregarding the chain of command. Staff are expected to take appropriate initiative while following Mesquite Treatment Center's policies, procedures, and supervisory structure. Documentation & Communication Accurately complete observation logs, shift reports, incident reports, and all other required documentation. Document incidents, safety concerns, maintenance issues, and resolutions according to facility policy. Immediately report significant incidents or concerns to the Residential House Supervisor. Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and coworkers. Provide accurate and relevant information during shift-to-shift handoffs. Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information at all times. Follow the appropriate chain of command. Professional Conduct Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with residents at all times. Treat residents with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect. Serve as a positive role model through professional behavior and communication. Maintain respectful and professional interactions with residents, coworkers, families, supervisors, and outside agencies. Remain calm and professional during stressful or challenging situations. Accept supervision, feedback, and coaching appropriately. Maintain knowledge of facility policies, procedures, and emergency protocols. Follow established policies, procedures, and chain of command. Complete assigned responsibilities before the end of the shift. Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned. Minimum QualificationsEducation High school diploma or GED Experience One year of experience working with children or adolescents in a residential, behavioral health, juvenile justice, social services, or similar setting is preferred. Prior experience working with adolescents experiencing substance use, mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, emotional difficulties, or other challenging circumstances is strongly preferred. Experience with behavioral redirection, de-escalation, crisis intervention, residential care, or trauma-informed environments is a plus. Licenses, Screening & Training Requirements Valid Texas driver's license required. Must successfully complete required criminal background screening. Must successfully complete required drug screening. Must complete all required facility training and demonstrate required competencies. Must maintain required training and certifications throughout employment, as applicable. Ability to receive feedback and make appropriate corrections. Ability to work rotating or assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays , as required by the position. Physical Requirements Candidates must be able to: Walk and stand for extended periods. Lift up to approximately 40 pounds . Assist with approved physical interventions when required and properly trained. Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities associated with the residential environment.
