Overview Seeking an In Home Caregiver for elderly lady in Marfa, Texas with moderate Alzheimer's symptoms and degenerative arthritis. This is a full-time (40 hours a week) contract position that includes housing and utilities provided by the employer. Compensation will be based upon experience, but will be a combination of hourly rate (around $15.00/hr) and housing valued at at least $1800 per month. Job includes two weeks of paid vacation per year. Caretaker role will help the client continue to live independently and safely near her ranch and community. Responsibilities Assist client with activities of daily living (ADLs), which may include bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Administer medication following care plans and ensure proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to detect changes or concerns promptly. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary plans. Assist client with transportation to various medical appointments and errands. Provide companionship and emotional support while engaging client in social activities or recreational pursuits. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment through regular cleaning and household chores. Document care activities accurately, communicate effectively with family and healthcare teams, and update care plans regularly. Qualifications Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or specialized caregiving training are advantageous. Prefer experience working as an in-home caregiver or in settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Prefer experience providing dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or working with individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities. Strong communication skills for client interaction and collaboration with healthcare professionals. Compassionate attitude combined with patience and respect for client dignity at all times.
