Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene to ensure comfort and dignity. Monitor patients' health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining detailed care plans tailored to individual needs. Administer medication and perform basic nursing tasks in accordance with HIPAA regulations and care protocols. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements, ensuring safety during meal preparation and assisting with feeding as needed. Support clients with mobility using proper patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to prevent injury. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing personal spaces. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and engagement to enhance overall well-being. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes. Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior promptly. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and experience working with clients with autism or developmental disabilities. Competence in using patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts and understanding patient transfer methods for safe mobility assistance. Ability to perform first aid, CPR, and basic life support procedures confidently in emergency situations. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards. Physical stamina for heavy lifting, manual handling, and supporting patients during transfers or activities requiring physical effort.
