This position will determine proper classification of inmates, determine placement into eligible programming and inmate release preparation. How does it get done?
Determine:
  • Classification of inmates
  • Placement into eligible programming

  • Assisting interdisciplinary teams in the evaluation of offenders
  • Participating in follow-up services and providing monitoring of offenders
  • Inmate Classification process
  • The reentry process
  • Application of Good Time Laws
  • Monitoring activities using a tracking system Minimum Qualification Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in Guidance and Counseling, Penology, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Family Studies/Services, Criminology, or related field as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification.
Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or experience in a correctional setting, records management, file auditing, case management, law enforcement, counseling, social work, government assistance programs, rehabilitative environment, working on health or social service-related matters, behavioral health, policy and/or statutory compliance totaling two (2) years may substitute for the required education. Employment Requirements This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Working Conditions Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates.
