full-time Role Description The Schenectady County Re-Entry Task Force Case Assistant is a part-time, Tuesday, Thursday mandatory Parole report, $24-$26 a hr, 21hrs a week. This role supports individuals returning to the community from incarceration by assisting with intake, gathering background information, and coordinating referrals to appropriate services. Daily tasks include maintaining case files, scheduling and confirming appointments, documenting client interactions, and providing follow-up to ensure services are accessed. The Case Assistant collaborates with case managers, social service agencies, and community partners to support re-entry plans and address needs related to housing, employment, family support, and social services. The role also involves clear communication with clients, timely reporting, and participation in team meetings to support program goals. Qualifications Ability to support case management activities, including organizing case files, tracking services, and assisting with follow-up. Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with clients, colleagues, and partner organizations. Knowledge or experience in foster care and family services, with an understanding of how justice involvement can affect families. Background or experience in social services, community-based programs, or related human services settings. Commitment to equity, non-discrimination, and trauma-informed, client-centered practice. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Proficiency with basic office software and data entry; ability to maintain accurate records and reports. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in social work, human services, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with justice-involved individuals or re-entry programs is a plus.
