intern Company Description Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers (IVC) supports older adults and disabled individuals who are striving to remain safe and independent in their own homes. The program coordinates practical assistance such as transportation to appointments, help with errands, chores, minor repairs, and light housekeeping. IVC also offers social and emotional support through friendly visits, supportive phone calls, and respite breaks for family caregivers. By connecting community volunteers with neighbors in need, IVC helps reduce isolation and enhances quality of life for those it serves. Role Description The Marketing and Outreach Intern will support IVC's efforts to raise awareness of its services and engage volunteers, donors, and community partners. This internship role is on-site and based in Roseville, MI. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with social media posts, updating website content, and helping develop flyers, newsletters, and other outreach materials. The intern may help plan and promote events, coordinate distribution of materials to community locations, and maintain contact lists and basic metrics for outreach activities. The role also involves collaborating with staff and volunteers, conducting simple research on local outreach opportunities, and representing IVC in a professional and inclusive manner. Qualifications Basic marketing and outreach abilities, including familiarity with social media platforms, email communication, and community engagement. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, empathetic, and audience-appropriate messages. Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on assigned projects. Comfort using common office and digital tools (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, simple design or publishing tools) and willingness to learn new systems. Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and to interact respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Interest in community service, aging, disability support, or nonprofit work; prior volunteer or outreach experience is helpful but not required. High school diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in or recent completion of a college or training program related to communications, marketing, social work, or a similar field is a plus.
