This is not a position where you only sit behind a desk. The role combines office-based follow-up with regular outreach to businesses in the community. You will spend time connecting with current members, introducing the organization to prospective members, attending local events, and helping build relationships throughout the business community. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, is comfortable walking into a business and starting a conversation, and can stay organized without needing constant direction. What You'll Be Doing Visit local businesses and introduce them to membership opportunities and available benefits Develop new leads and follow up with prospective members Communicate with current members through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits Help strengthen member relationships and encourage renewals and participation Attend networking opportunities, community functions, and business events Keep accurate notes on prospects, conversations, follow-ups, renewals, and member needs Share information with members about programs, events, resources, and opportunities Check in with existing members and gather feedback about their experience Assist with occasional events, including vendor communication, guest lists, check-in, forms, permits, and basic event coordination Provide general office support related to membership and outreach as needed This May Be a Good Fit If You Are Naturally outgoing and comfortable meeting new people Confident approaching business owners and introducing yourself Good at building and maintaining professional relationships Comfortable making calls and following up consistently Organized and able to manage multiple conversations and leads at once Able to work independently and take initiative Reliable and strong with follow-through Professional and friendly in person, over the phone, and through email Comfortable dividing your time between office work and community outreach Available for occasional evening or weekend events Experience in sales, business development, customer service, hospitality, community outreach, networking, account management, or a similar relationship-based role is a plus. More important than a specific background is being someone who can confidently connect with people, stay organized, and turn conversations into long-term professional relationships. Position Details Part-time position Majority of hours are during normal business hours Mix of office work and local field outreach Occasional evening and weekend availability required for events Hourly compensation Opportunity for additional compensation based on new memberships Mileage reimbursement for approved business-related travel What Success Looks Like The right person will steadily build a pipeline of prospective members, convert new memberships, maintain strong relationships with existing members, improve participation and retention, and become a familiar and professional presence within the local business community.
Pay:
