If you are interested in providing community resources through outreach, consider applying for the position of Teen Outreach Advocate. Responsibilities :

Create, implement, and sustain teen outreach programs to expose and educate teens on making decisions to avoid victimization and break existing cycles of violence. In coordination with leadership, establish and strengthen partnerships with school districts, schools, after-school programs, civic group programs, and faith-based programs. Work collaboratively with Teen Outreach team members to support program operations and ensure seamless delivery. Provide assistance and coverage for scheduled programs, events, and other key responsibilities during staff absences, scheduling conflicts, or high-demand periods. Offer programmatic engagement in various in-person settings, including school settings, after-school programs, and through partnerships with other community and faith-based organizations. Provide community outreach and education to teens from violent homes by offering support, mentoring, and guidance to help in breaking the cycle of intimate partner violence. Offer support, information, group activities, and special education events for teens residing in the community to help counteract the traumatic effects of exposure to intimate partner violence. Educate teens regarding healthy behaviors, relationships, and intimate partner violence, to equip them to navigate challenges and choose healthy relationships successfully. Work with teens to develop goals with a focus on non-violent interpersonal relationships. Use interactive group discussions, guided presentations, positive adult guidance and support, as well as community involvement and service learning to address dating and intimate partner violence. Serve as a liaison to community resources. Input direct service and collateral time into Sistercare's client database management system according to Sistercare's policies and procedures. Participate in department meetings, agency all-staff meetings, and other special agency committees. Attend twelve (12) hours of Victim Service Provider (VSP) approved training each year to maintain active VSP certification. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in human services or other closely related field, plus two years of experience providing direct services with youth; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of issues of violence against youth. Ability to work closely with diverse populations. Computer knowledge, including MS Office proficiency. Ability to relate non-judgmentally with individuals with a wide range of problems and challenges, within a cooperative team effort, and handle emergency situations independently. Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed, to attend events and meetings. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and appropriate vehicle insurance.

Monday-Thursday:

8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Friday:

8:30 am - 1:00 pm Occasional nights and weekends for events
