Team members collaborate across disciplines to engage the public and thought leaders in constructive dialogue about these themes. Role Description The Education & Outreach Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Bremerton, WA. This position supports educational programs and community outreach initiatives by coordinating events, workshops, and public presentations. Daily responsibilities include assisting with program logistics, communicating with participants and partners, maintaining contact lists and outreach materials, and responding to public inquiries in a professional and welcoming manner. The role also involves conducting basic research to support educational content, preparing summaries and outreach resources, and helping track engagement metrics. The Education & Outreach Assistant works closely with staff to ensure consistent messaging, effective program delivery, and a positive experience for all community members. Qualifications Strong Communication skills for clear writing, speaking, and presentation of information. Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities for engaging community members and partners respectfully. Experience in Community Outreach, including organizing events, fostering relationships, and promoting programs. Research skills for gathering information, synthesizing findings, and supporting educational and outreach materials. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build constructive relationships with diverse stakeholders. Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, deadlines, and event logistics. Basic proficiency with office software and communication tools (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software). Interest in education, public policy, science, or community engagement; prior experience in a non-profit or educational setting is beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or a degree in a relevant field (such as education, communications, or social sciences) is a plus.
