Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Director of Children, Youth, and Family Ministries to lead and inspire our faith community's youngest members and their families. This vital role involves developing innovative programs, fostering spiritual growth, and nurturing a welcoming environment that encourages active engagement across all age groups. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a deep commitment to faith-based education, and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the community. As a key spiritual leader, you will oversee the planning and execution of ministries that support children, youth, and families in their faith journeys, ensuring alignment with our organization's mission and values. Duties Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive children's, youth, and family ministry programs that promote spiritual development, community engagement, and service opportunities. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer staff and lay leaders to support various ministry initiatives. Foster a nurturing environment that encourages participation from diverse families and promotes inclusion within the faith community. Coordinate religious education classes, youth group activities, retreats, mission trips, and special events aligned with organizational goals. Provide mentorship, counseling, and pastoral support to young members and their families while addressing their spiritual needs with compassion. Collaborate with other church or organization departments to integrate family ministries into overall church life and outreach efforts. Engage in community outreach initiatives to strengthen relationships with local organizations, schools, and social service agencies. Manage program budgets, fundraising efforts, and grant applications to support ministry activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards related to childcare and youth activities while maintaining a secure environment for all participants. Promote ongoing training in areas such as religious teaching methods, social work practices related to youth engagement, and leadership development. Experience Proven experience working in religious organizations or faith-based nonprofits with a focus on children's or youth ministries. Demonstrated leadership in managing volunteer teams and coordinating large-scale programs or events. Strong background in religious studies or pastoral theology with experience teaching religious content to children or adolescents. Experience working directly with children and youth in educational or pastoral settings; familiarity with social work principles is a plus. Knowledge of bereavement support strategies and hospice care considerations for families facing loss is desirable. Skilled in communication, mentoring, counseling, event planning, fundraising, and community engagement efforts. Prior experience working as a clergyperson or religious leader within a nonprofit faith-based organization is highly valued. Ability to foster inclusive environments that promote diversity within faith communities through effective outreach initiatives. Join us in shaping the spiritual lives of future generations! We are committed to empowering our leaders to create vibrant programs that inspire faith-based growth while building lasting relationships within our community. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals dedicated to nurturing faith through innovative ministry leadership.
