Position:

The Director of Faith Formation (K-6) administers the parish catechetical program and provides leadership to assist the parish community in building a solid foundation of catechetical ministry supporting both our Parish Vision and Mission. This is a 28-32 hour week position, with benefits.

Position Responsibilities:

Organize, schedule, and oversee all aspects of religious education programs for pre-school through grade 6, and family formation consistent with RCAB guidelines and the pastor's vision. Prepare and schedule sacramental and worship services for students and parents. Identify and support the training for catechists at each grade level, ensuring that all RCAB requirements are met by all volunteers. Prepare and assist catechists in their role as teacher and be a resource of experience and knowledge. Meet periodically with existing catechists to update and to update and understand their needs and experiences. Handle registration and scheduling classes ensuring the appropriate paperwork is completed prior to registration and copies of baptismal certificates are uploaded prior to registration. Prepare and implement special liturgies for the children of religious education and for the catechist team. Prepare and preside at para-liturgical celebrations for students. Order textbooks, teaching materials and resources for the program. Coordinate with other ministry leaders such as music and evangelization to plan for sacraments and programing. Participate in staff meetings and update the staff as needed. Additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Pastor.

Position Specifications/RequirementsRequired:

Minimum of 3 years' experience in directing a parish faith formation program BA degree or equivalent certification in Theology, Religious Education or Faith Formation A practicing and active member of the Roman Catholic faith An understanding of our parish mission and vision and the ability to implement a program in line with both A thorough understanding of the Catholic faith and the sacraments A desire to help children and their families deepen their faith life The ability to work with parents to foster the faith education of their children The ability to work with and coordinate activities with staff and volunteers The ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate weekends, late afternoons and evenings

Familiarity with RCAB relating to
