Director of Young Adult Ministry and Coordinator of Connects Ministry First United Methodist Church Cary (Cary, NC) Cary, NC Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Leadership development Organizational skills Theology Working with adult populations Working with youth Full Job Description First United Methodist Church in Cary, North Carolina (First Cary), seeks a staff member who can serve in a dual role as the Director of Young Adult Ministry and as Coordinator of the Connects Ministry. The purpose and mission of this position is to guide the ministry of young adults (ages 18-35) as they grow in faith and love as disciples of Jesus Christ, while also helping create meaningful pathways of connection across the Campus for all people of First Cary. The Director will provide leadership and vision for the Young Adult Ministry through discipleship opportunities, small groups, social gatherings, service opportunities, and leadership development. In addition, this staff member will work alongside the Pastor of Care and Connection to welcome newcomers, strengthen congregational engagement, and help foster a culture of connection throughout the church. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ministry with young adults, a love for relationship building, and a commitment to helping people take next steps in their faith journey. The candidate should exemplify a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and work collaboratively with clergy, staff and laity. Experience in ministry with young adults, college students, or youth is preferred. A theological degree or equivalent ministry experience is also preferred.
