Could you bring together families, volunteers, clergy, and chapel staff to create a welcoming and well-organized religious education program? The role Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is seeking a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to support its active Catholic faith community. This is a varied and meaningful role where no two weeks will look exactly the same. You will coordinate religious education programs for children from early childhood through Grade 12, as well as adult faith formation, youth activities, and sacramental preparation. The position provides 25 hours of service each week, including at least 15 office hours during regular chapel hours. Key Responsibilities Coordinate Parish School of Religion classes and faith formation programs. Support preparation for Baptism, Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and OCIA. Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage catechists and volunteers. Organize registration, student records, attendance, calendars, and parent communications. Plan youth activities, volunteer training, meetings, and special events. Prepare budgets, purchase requests, supply orders, and facility requests. Review curriculum materials with the Catholic Priest before use. Maintain accurate, confidential records. Support background checks and child-safety requirements. Attend staff meetings and monthly Catholic Parish Advisory Council meetings. The Benefits Part-time schedule of 25 hours per week. One base contract year with four optional years. The person You must hold current catechist certification from a Roman Catholic diocese and have at least two years of classroom experience within a Catholic parish religious education program. A master's degree in education, theology, religious education, teaching, pastoral ministry, or a related subject is preferred. Equivalent education and experience may be considered. You will also need strong communication, planning, record-keeping, budgeting, and basic office software skills. Applicants must meet installation access, background investigation, and child-safety requirements. A résumé and two professional reference letters are required.
