Our ideal candidate genuinely enjoys working with students and families, communicates with patience and care, and has strong writing and editing skills to help students develop compelling and authentic college essays. We are looking for someone interested in a stable, long-term position with opportunities to grow professionally and take on greater leadership responsibilities. General Responsibilities Guide students through the entire college admissions process Develop personalized admissions strategies based on each student's academic profile, strengths, interests, and goals Build strategic and well-balanced college lists Advise students on extracurricular activities, positioning, and application planning Provide strategic guidance, editing, and detailed feedback on Common App, UC, and supplemental essays Help students develop compelling personal narratives while preserving their authentic voice Support applications to UC schools, Ivy League institutions, private universities, and other highly selective colleges Manage application timelines, deadlines, and student progress Communicate regularly and professionally with students and parents Collaborate with our counseling and academic team to provide highly personalized support Qualifications 3+ years of college counseling, college admissions, or directly related experience Strong knowledge of UC applications, Common App, Ivy League, and other selective university admissions Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills Strong understanding of college essay and overall application strategy Ability to provide thoughtful, constructive feedback while maintaining each student's individual voice Excellent communication skills with both students and parents Warm, patient, approachable, and professional Highly organized, responsible, and detail-oriented Able to build strong, trusting relationships with students and families Interested in a long-term position and growing with our organization Preferred Qualifications Former college admissions officer or high school college counselor IECA or HECA-related experience Experience working with students and families in Orange County Korean or Chinese bilingual ability is a plus Compensation & Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications Health insurance benefits for eligible full-time employees Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid holidays Professional development opportunities Opportunities for career advancement and leadership Stable, year-round position
