" Mount Saint Joseph Academy is seeking an Assistant Director of College Counseling to guide students through every stage of the college search, application, and admission process. Working closely with the Dean of College Counseling in a collaborative office, this role advises a caseload of 40-45 students and manages key office operations, advocating for young women and their families with honesty, empathy, and expertise in the field of college counseling. Primary Responsibilities Operations & Technology Use Scoir to track applications, maintain student records, and manage office workflow. Prepare and submit official school documents: transcripts, school profile, recommendation letters. Coordinate deadlines and requirements across the Common App and institution-specific portals. Advising & Advocacy Counsel an assigned caseload of approximately 40-45 students through college research, list-building, application strategy, and assist with final decision-making. Meet individually with students and families to discuss academic interests, extracurricular profiles, and postsecondary goals. Guide students through personal statement brainstorming and give substantive feedback on drafts. Draft individualized letters of recommendation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; master's degree a plus. 2-3 years of experience in selective college admissions or secondary school college counseling preferred. Strong writing skills, particularly for recommendation letters and family-facing communication. Comfort discussing sensitive personal and financial information with discretion. Familiarity with Scoir, Naviance, or similar platforms preferred.
