Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
Under immediate supervision of the care for elementary school children in a site-based before and after school child care program; to assist the Director in program operation; and to perform other related duties.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
May perform any combination of the following: Supervises small groups and individual children following established activity plans- Organizes games, crafts and other activities
- Supervises quiet times and homework preparation periods
- Observe and control student behavior according to school discipline procedures
- Assist in the maintenance of an orderly and clean environment
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Assist in maintaining records for program and in collecting fees and explaining program procedures to parents, and perform other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent- Effective communication skills along with the ability to relate to student and parents with a multi-cultural background.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications
- Offer of employment contingent upon satisfactory completion of pre-placement medical exam, including drug testing and fingerprint clearance
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Ability to supervise students in order to maintain appropriate safety and order- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and directions
