Job Summary The Children & Youth Ministry Coordinator will work with and support volunteers in our Sunday Children's Church and Thursday Youth Ministries. While not expected to lead every week, this individual will be present during Sunday Worship and Children's Church each week. A certain number of weeks each month to be determined, they will also be present during Youth Group (currently on Thursday afternoons). The coordinator will be a point of stability to enable volunteers to use their gifts with Children and Youth. Responsibilities Weekly Children's Church. This includes preparing curriculum, coordinating and training volunteers, and being onsite from 10 am-12 pm minimum each Sunday. Support & Coordinate Youth Team. Work with the Youth Group volunteers to coordinate group time on Thursdays, including lessons, volunteer rotations and leadership, and snacks. Be onsite for Youth Group on Thursdays, 2:30-5:30 pm two to three Thursdays a month. Communicate with the front office to create information and publicity around the Youth and Children's Ministries for our Newsletter, Bulletins, and social media (as is appropriate). Coordinate events with church calendar. Communicate with volunteers and parents with compassion and professionalism. Utilize skills and expertise of volunteers. Meet with pastor regularly (to be determined with pastor) as needed for coordination and support. Help recruit and support volunteers. Work with stake holders for vision expansion of ministries when appropriate. Qualifications A Christian person, at least 18 years of age. Some experience with children (Elementary age) and/or youth (6th-12th grade) either on staff or as a volunteer. High School diploma. Patience, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. An ability to self-motivate, coordinate volunteers, and work with and lead others. Able to pass a background screening to work with minors. $15/hour
Expected Hours:
10hrs/week - 10 hours a week with at least 2 onsite on Sundays, some weeks with an addition 3 hours on Thursdays. Other hours to be worked out with Pastor as Supervisor.
Schedule:
